ALL CAMPS HELD AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY

The goal of each of our camps is to make you a better wrestler not only by increasing your skill set, but by increasing your knowledge of the sport so that you may grow and develop from it. You have goals and we can show you how to get there.

Commuter Camp: June 6-8

The focus of our Commuter Camp is learning winning skills and techniques with repetitive drilling. This three-day camp, geared for local wrestlers, runs from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. ET and features two age groups that will run simultaneously. Little Hammers Camp is recommended for grades 1-4 or beginner wrestlers, while Junior Boilers Camp is recommended for grades 4-8. Campers will need to bring their own sack lunch the first two days (June 6, 7), lunch will be provided the third day (June 8).

Little Hammers Camp

Little Hammers focuses on the fundamentals of wrestling, functional strength and flexibility and enjoying the sport. Each day we will incorporate warm up, gymnastics, technique instruction, competitive wrestling/sparing and games. This camp is great for beginners and inexperienced wrestlers grades 1-8.

Junior Boilers Camp

Junior Boilers is designed to teach young wrestlers the skills and techniques necessary to be a successful wrestler as they mature. Fundamentals will be stressed, however more advanced techniques and detailed instruction can be expected. Each day we will incorporate warm up, gymnastics, technique instruction, competitive wrestling/sparing and games. Wrestlers will be paired by skill level. If a wrestler has more experience, but is younger than fourth grade, they may register for this camp.

Tentative Schedule
  • 8:45 a.m. – Camper drop off at west entrance of Lambert Fieldhouse, located on John R. Wooden Drive
  • 9 – 11 a.m. – Session 1
  • 11 – 12 p.m. – Lunch
  • 12 – 2 p.m. – Session 2
  • 2 p.m. – Camper pick up at west entrance of Lambert Fieldhouse, located on John R. Wooden Drive

Technique Camp: June 19-22

Our four-day Technique Camp focuses on fundamental drills and techniques from all positions to help you improve your skill set. You’ll receive detailed instruction on current setups, takedowns, escapes, breakdowns and pinning combinations.

Our high-level coaching staff will also teach you about critical off-the-mat skills, such as nutrition, strength training, weight loss and the proper mental attitude.

The goal of our Technique Camp is to give each you a better understanding of the sport and how you can grow and develop from it.

Takedown Camp: June 23-26

Our four-day Takedown Camp focuses on gaining a better understanding of position, setups, counter offense, hand fighting and multiple attacks. You’ll learn these techniques through drilling and live wrestling while learning how to compete at a high level.

You’ll also receive instruction on critical off-the-mat skills, such as nutrition, strength training, weight loss and the proper mental attitude.

On the last day of camp we will have a takedown tournament so you can put the new skills you’ve learned to the test.

You’ll be exposed to the best techniques while working with a coaching staff that has competed and coached at the highest level. Our Takedown Camp will allow you to greatly improve as a takedown artist.
