Dan Ross Head Coach Men’s Swimming
Dan Ross, a three-time Big Ten Coach of the Year, completed his 29th season as head coach of the Purdue men’s swimming and diving team and his 37th year of association with Boilermaker aquatics during the 2013-14 school year. He is the longest-tenured of all 15 Boilermaker head coaches and is tied with Minnesota’s Dennis Dale as the dean of Big Ten coaches.
Ross has earned three Big Ten Coach of the Year awards, which is tied for the third-highest total in conference history. The first award came in 1988, the second in 1997 and the third, and most meaningful, in 2009 following a season in which wife Sally overcame a battle with breast cancer and Purdue tied the highest Big Ten finish in program history. With an all-time dual meet record of 180-137, Ross ranks as the winningest coach in the Boilermaker program’s history.

J. Agnew Men’s Assistant Coach
J Agnew completed his seventh year as Purdue men’s swimming and diving assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2013-14 school year.
His tenure on deck has been one of the most successful stretches in Purdue history. In 2009 and 2010, the Boilermakers tied their highest Big Ten finish by placing fourth, marking the first time they earned consecutive fourth-place finishes since 1947-51. In the past three seasons alone, Boilermakers have broken a school record 23 times and taken down a freshman record 20 times.

John Klinge Head Coach Women’s Swimming
John Klinge has helped elevate the national profile of the Purdue women’s swimming and diving program in his six years as head coach. He was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year after leading the Boilermakers to historic highs in 2009-10.
Diver Casey Matthews’ 2013 national championship and 2014 Big Ten title have highlighted the recent seasons for the Boilermakers. She won the Purdue women’s first-ever national title and first Big Ten crown since 2009.

Erica Beine Women’s Assistant Coach
Former Wisconsin-Milwaukee head coach and University of Maryland assistant Erica Beine completed her third season as an assistant for Purdue women’s swimming and diving in 2013-14. Beine joined the Boilermakers in June 2011.
“Erica brings a great deal of knowledge, experience, and excitement to our program,” Purdue head coach John Klinge said. “We are very fortunate to have her as part of Purdue Swimming and Diving.”

Darlene Renie Supervisor of Swimming & Diving Operations
Darlene Renie completed her 14th year as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Purdue women’s program in 2010-11. In the summer of 2011, she made the transition to supervisor of swimming and diving operations for both the men’s and women’s teams. The 2013-14 season marks her third year in a that role.
As the main recruiter for the Purdue women’s program, Renie was responsible for all aspects of both on- and off-campus recruiting.
